A Cute little Gift Bag

>> May 30, 2012

Good morning Stamp Spot readers ~

Patrice here to show you a little gift bag full of goodies I made for my BFF who is arriving in Canberra to visit today!  It has all the May 'spots' - pink, bling and flowers included.

I used a die to cut my pink front and back panels, and cut a little white paper bag down and attached inside - apologies, I should have taken a photo of this.  I've stamped a little flower and sentiment on the front, added a bit of bling, and tied some ribbon along with a tag I made.  The little layered flowers and twine can all be found in the store.

I used a few miscellaneous items I had in my stash, but you'll find all the supplies you need in The Stamp Spot store.

Hope you've had a wonderful May...I know I've been enjoying all the pink and bling this month.

Hugs - Patrice

Sandra Amelia here, to bring you another Card inspired by our current challenge! Ya'll know I love my Some Odd girl so I had to use the lovely  Royal set. I went ahead and paper pieced Royals dress with paper from My Minds Eye and also used the same paper on the base of my card. My sentiment is from the same set which I embossed on to the banner in white , the banner itself was stamped with paint onto Neenah cardstock. I added a few extra touches by adding twine, pearls and ephemera.

Royals Hair and skin were colored with Copic markers. Skin:YR0000,YR000,YR00,YR01,W1, Hair: E50,E51,E53

Feel better

>> May 28, 2012

I'm just adoring the May challenge spots - Bling, Pink and Flowers, they are just inspiring!

Starting with a base of Amarylis core'denations I've layered it up with some patterned paper and a Die-namics open bracket border.
I've then popped the Die-namics Umbrella up on a nestablility circle and scalloped circle.

I've used some pink twine and also a little bit of satin frill ribbon!!

And to top it off I've used some rhinestones!

Just a few more days to get your entry in for this month and I can't wait to see what you create!

Sweet Thinkin' Mae

>> May 27, 2012

Jess D here, just looking back through the previous few DT posts, seems we've all got the Some Odd Girl bug! I'm not going to be the c-c-c-combo breaker (sorry a bit of my inner geek coming out) Anyway, I have a Sweet Thinkin' Mae card to share with you today!
I stamped the Mae stamp on watercolour paper and also on to some Echo Park - For the Record patterned paper for her bow and dress which I fussy cut and stuck onto the watercolour paper. I coloured her up using my markers and fussy cut her out. I used a black card base, layered up with some white card stock, which I stamped with the Lawn Fawn Chevron Backdrops in black ink (on my biggest acrylic stamp block, I have gotten a black permanent marker and a ruler and drawn straight lines along it 1cm apart to line up pesky stamps like this one, and make stamping straight easier!) and then layered it up with some Satin Single Frill black ribbon. I attached Mae using a whole bunch of Foam mounting tape, I then stamped my sentiment in black Memento ink and added some tiny red rhinestones to finish it off!
Thanks for joining us here, and don't forget you've still got a couple of days to play with our challenge spots this month!

Romantic Gwen - Guest DT Danielle Daws

>> May 25, 2012

Hello!  Danielle Daws here with a Guest DT spot for The Stamp Spot!

First up, a little about me...

I started colouring images a couple of years ago and my husband assures me I'm getting better at staying between the lines.  I have an unhealthy attachment to my Prismacolor pencils and I've spent far too long searching for the perfect sharpener (who knew there were so many different types?)!  Other than that, I live in Tasmania, Australia with my husband and our 5 year old daughter - she's getting better at colouring between the lines too...

I'm thrilled that Michelle invited me to do a guest spot on The Stamp Spot, and she's the perfect person to enable my developing obsession with Some Odd Girl stamps.  Aren't they cute?

Today I have a Clean And Simple card to share with you featuring Romantic Gwen from Some Odd Girl.  I love CAS cards, and I often find myself using this style with coloured images.  I used Prismacolor Pencils to colour Romantic Gwen and then I fussy cut her out.  The patterned card stock behind her is some Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock.  The piece I've used is one from my stash, but there are some great assortments in store.  If you haven't used Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock before, it really is so easy to get brilliant effects.  I used some fine sandpaper to sand back the pattern - it's important to note that different grades of sandpaper give different results.  They're just a pretty, but different nonetheless!

I paired Romantic Gwen with a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.  Even though they're different companies, I think they're a great fit!  What do you think?

That's it from me today!  Don't forget about the May Challenge Spots!  I'll be back with some more cards soon.  Thanks for having me!

Dancer

>> May 24, 2012

Hi everyone! It's Alyce here and I have a fun shaped card to share with you today that I created using the French Flair stackers by Cheery Lynn. Don't forget that if there are any Cheery Lynn dies that you would like to grab, just pop a quick email to Michelle at info@thestampspot.com.au. To make this card I die cut two of the largest french flair dies, folded one third of the back piece and adhered it to the front. Nice and simple!

My model is Dancer by Some Odd Girl, which I have coloured using copic markers. Here are the colours that I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R11
Hair: E11, E13, E15, E18
Dress: BG000, BG01, BG05, BG09

Don't forget you still have time to play along with this month's challenge; Pink, Bling, and Flowers. Can't wait to see all of your lovely creations!

A Standing Flower Pot Card

>> May 23, 2012

Hi everyone!

It's Sandy here today to share with you a free standing flower pot card that I made using this month's spots - Bling~The Colour Pink~Flowers.

and a look at the insert

The flowers are die cuts using the MFT - Upsy Daisy Die. The pink cardstock is Core'dinations Exotic Orchid. I've used some Kaisercraft Pearls - Lush in the flower centers as my touch of bling. I've used white lace on my flower pot, you can find similar lace in black in store here.

You can find the tutorial to make your own self standing flower pot card here.

Don't forget that there's still time to play along with this month's spot challenge. We love to see what you create!

A Baby Shower

>> May 22, 2012

Happy Tuesday ~

Patrice popping in today to share a sweet little baby card using the May 'spots - pink, bling and flowers.

I recently attended a baby shower and needed a card and something to package my gift of cash (so mum and dad can purchase what they want/need).  I made a cute little card in the shape of a romper.  Starting with a base of pink, I added some satin ribbon, a little tag tied with twine and a paper flower.  I used some glossy accents dotted around the neck of the card and finished with a little bling for the fasteners.  I went for the same embellishments on the little pillow box.

Don't forget to join our monthly Challenge to be in the running for some fabulous prizes.

Hugs - Patrice
